I've been keeping busy, or at least, attempting to - collecting prints of forgotten film, packing boxes, un-cluttering (both our homes and our lives), and making the final adjustments ready to say goodbye to this chapter of our lives.
We relocate to the south coast in exactly two weeks. Im dreaming of the ocean.
Im also trying to decide between a Contax 645 (with 80mm lens) or a Canon 5D Mark III.
Digital or film?
I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy this week, shooting digital (a post on that soon!), though Im not entirely sure if I could completely let go forever, there is a humble simplicity that just doesn't exist naturally on chip.
Its a decision of the future, more than one of attachment, though. I'm pulled towards the idea of (forever shooting) fine art film until it is no longer available to shoot....but there is also something overly exhilarating about the technical ability to capture (and continue to capture) with a digital sensor and my innate desire to continuously improve, achieve, and refine is one that pulls me a little closer to the other side of the argument.
I guess its a game of contemplation, and a decision I will ultimately make at the bottom of this Little Green Island.
